SundayMail#5NewOtome

UPDATED: 21/3/2016

Greetings!

I hope you enjoy issue #5 of The Sunday Otome Gaming Mail!

This week, we’ve got a couple of new otome game announcements to make up for the unfortunate news that the Kickstarter of Beastmaster and Prince ~Flower & Snow~ was unsuccessful. The new games are Oumagatoki ~Kakuriyo no Enishi~ by otome game newcomers eXtend and Crank In by Petit Reve.

+ Reporting period: 14/3/2016~20/3/2016 +

Countdowns are currently under way for Dance with Devils. Additionally, the second wave of countdowns for R18+ Bocchi Musume x Produce Keikaku. (in anticipation of the package edition release) has begun.

Unfortunately, the Moujuutsukai to Ouji-sama ~Flower & Snow~ localisation Kickstarter was unsuccessful, being short of the $150,000 funding goal by $75,706.

MangaGamer’s localisation of Ozmafia!! is now available for pre-order as of 14/3/2016. The full price of the game is $34.95, however, earlybirds can take advantage of the 15% off discount– making the game currently $29.70. The game will be released on 29/4/2016. Please note that this is the PC version of Ozmafia!!, NOT the PlayStation Vita port.

Petit Reve has uploaded a teaser site with a trailer of their fourth title currently in development. Called Crank In, its tagline is “a love like in the movies, will begin”. The character designs and artwork will be handled by Ouka Mai. Petit Reve plans on opening the website on 20/4/2016. No estimated release date has been provided as of yet.

eXtend has announced that they’ll be releasing their first ever otome game. It’s called Oumagatoki ~Kakuriyo no Enishi~, with Kazura Ringo handling the writing and Futaba Hazuki in charge of the character designs and artwork. It’s planned for release in the summer of 2016. A teaser site is available to peek at and more information will be released in the May edition of B’s Log.

Ozmafia!! will be getting adapted into an anime series. The adaptation’s website was opened to the public on 16/3/2016. No extra information has been revealed at this time.

Dance with Devils just made it into the Famitsuu Silver ranking, having earned 30/40 ( 8/7/8/7) in the 15/3/2016 Famitsuu Cross Review. For those unfamiliar with the Famitsuu Cross Review scoring system, it involves a panel of 4 game critics reviewing the same game with each critic giving it a score from 0~10. This makes 40 the highest possible score, with awards of distinction being given to games earning: 30~31/40 = Famitsuu Silver, 32~34/40 = Famitsuu Gold and 35+/40 = Famitsuu Platinum.

A soundtrack has been confirmed of Period Cube ~Torikago no Amadeus~. It is set to be released on 01/6/2016. The game itself is planned to hit stores on 19/5/2016.

The Hakuouki Shinkai series, which is a 2-part PlayStation Vita remake of Hakuouki ~Shinsengumi Kitan~, will be releasing Kaze no Shou (part 1) and Hana no Shou (part 2) as a twin pack. The twin pack will hit stores on the same day as Hana no Shou, which is 16/6/2016.

In their official English Twitter account conversation with their followers, Spike Chunsoft have said that they’ll consider a localisation of Kenka Banchou Otome providing that it drums up enough interest. If you’re interested, it’s recommended that you make this known to Spike Chunsoft by offering words of encouragement.

In celebration of Koezaru wa Akai Hana ~Taiga wa Mirai wo Tsugu~’s PlayStation Vita port Koezaru wa Akai Hana ~Koi wa Tsuki ni Michibikareru~’s upcoming release, a character popularity poll was conducted. The results were uploaded on 18/6/2016 and are as follows:

  1. Lovely post! I really like this weekly news/recap of what’s new in the otome world~ (*^3^)/~☆
Surprised you didn’t say Ozmafia was currently up for preorder at MangaGamer (I think it’s still 30% off, but I’m not sure (⌒_⌒;))

    • Thank you for reading, Cat! I’m happy you’re enjoying the Sunday posts. =)

OMG! I can’t believe I forgot to mention the Ozmafia!! localisation… T__T Thank you so very much; I’ll add it in the post right away.

      • No problem(*^3^)/~♡

        Ah, I’m glad I brought it up then! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

Also, did you see that Spike Chunsoft said if there’s fan demand they’ll bring Kenka Bancho Otome? ~(^◇^)/

        • I am aware of it, but didn’t include Kenka Banchou because it’s just a vague “maybe we’ll think about it if there is enough interest” in the end and there’s no official source to my knowledge. I believe that was said in an English interview and not made public on their Twitter, website, etc. Perhaps in the future if Spike Chunsoft say something less vague on an official source, I’ll definitely include it.

Hope I didn’t sound rude! Thank you for helping me not to forget things. ☺

          • They said it on Twitter! (☆^O^☆) Fans @ at them, and they replied. I’ve seen their tweet and seen screenshots too (☆^ー^☆)
            You didn’t sound rude, at all! If I ever sound rude, tell me cause it’s never my intention ;_;
Blogs like yours are my source of information about otome gaming since I’m still learning the language ╥﹏╥

            • Good evening, Cat!

I’ve got home, checked on Google and you’re absolutely right. Keeping up with English otome news is one of my weaker points and here, it really showed! I’ll be adding in this news right away.

I don’t think you’ve been rude at all. In fact, I really value your input!

              Thank you very much. =)

              • Hi, Laramie! (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
No worries, if it hadn’t been for Twitter I wouldn’t even have known, I’m super clueless about otome news (⌒_⌒;)
                AW, thank you! (´∀`)♡
                I’m glad I wasn’t rude ಥ⌣ಥ
